Different in every neighbourhood
From the centre to Weideveld and the surrounding countryside
Bodegraven is small enough to know well and large enough to differ from street to street. Where we put the van and how the contents come out is something we assess during the survey.
The centre and the Oude Rijn
Around the Raadhuisplein, the Willemstraat and the quaysides you find older buildings and flats above shops. Narrow pavements, little room to stand still for long. We load there with a smaller van, plan the work outside the busy hours and apply to the municipality of Bodegraven-Reeuwijk for an exemption if one is needed.
Broekvelden, Vromade and the Vijverwijk
Terraced houses from the nineteen sixties and seventies, with a shed at the back and a steep loft stair. Here the work is usually not in the living room but in the store room, the crawl space and forty years of belongings in the loft. Parking is rarely a problem.
Weideveld, Dronenwijk and Rijnhoek
Newer family homes and flats on the east side of the village. Larger properties, fitted wardrobes, sometimes a lift and a parking deck whose height we need to know. For a sale we take out the flooring and the curtain rails on the same day.

From the older person’s home to the final inspection
Bodegraven has a great deal of housing for older people, from the flats at Rijngaarde to the sheltered homes spread across the village. If your father or mother is moving to De Vijverhof or to a care place elsewhere, the old home often has to go back to the landlord within a few weeks. Mozaïek Wonen, the social housing association that owns a large share of the social rented homes here, works to a fixed inspection list.

About Bodegraven
Why the work runs differently here than in the city
Bodegraven lies on the Oude Rijn, with the A12 and the station close by. Many residents work in Utrecht, Leiden or Alphen and carry on living where they grew up. That leaves houses here that the same family has lived in for thirty or forty years, with sheds and lofts that are full to match. When a home like that has to be emptied, it is almost never only about the furniture.
Outside the built-up area the work changes again. Towards the Meije and along the polder roads there are farmhouses and detached houses with barns, cellars and workshops. We come there with our own lorries and, if the volume calls for it, with a skip. In the centre we do the opposite: smaller equipment, more trips, and an arrangement with the neighbours about the pavement.

Bodegraven and the surrounding villages
From the Raadhuisplein we serve the whole municipality of Bodegraven-Reeuwijk: Nieuwerbrug, Driebruggen, Waarder, the Meije and the villages around the lakes. To Reeuwijk is about six kilometres, to Woerden roughly eight and to Gouda twelve. North of the village we work in Nieuwkoop. We are regularly in Zwammerdam and Oudewater as well.

Questions about house clearance in Bodegraven
How quickly can you be at the door in Bodegraven?

Can you clear only the contents and leave the flooring in place?
You can. Clearing the contents is the basis: everything out of the home, the shed, the loft and the store room. Carpet, laminate, curtain rails and light fittings we add only if you say so during the survey. It is then part of the same fixed price.
My parent is moving to housing for older people and wants to take things along. How does that work?
During the survey we set aside what has to go to the new home and take that there first. Only then do we remove the rest. That way the new room is already furnished before the old house is empty.
Do you know the handover requirements of Mozaïek Wonen?
Yes, we regularly clear rented homes belonging to Mozaïek Wonen in Bodegraven and Reeuwijk. The property goes back broom clean, without rails, hooks and wall plugs and with the holes filled, so that it passes the inspection first time.
What happens to the items that can still be used?
Usable furniture and household goods go to a second hand shop or a charity in the Bodegraven, Woerden or Gouda area. The rest we separate into wood, metal, plastic and electronics and deliver to the processor by material stream.
Do you also clear a farmhouse or a home with a large barn?
Yes. In the countryside towards the Meije and along the Oude Rijn we clear farmhouses, homes with a workshop and properties holding years of storage. We then put a skip in place and work with more people, so that it is finished in a day or two.
